A free drying log template you can print today.
Print this template and take it to site. It gives each visit the same structure, so readings, conditions and equipment changes can be compared from one attendance to the next.
How to use it
Fill in the header once per job, then add a row for each reading at each visit.
- Use the same moisture points and locations at each visit.
- Record the reference or unaffected reading alongside the affected reading.
- Note equipment added, moved or removed, and why.
- Note limitations and any areas that could not be accessed.
Common gaps that make logs hard to review
Logs become hard to follow when point names change between visits, units are missing, the meter or scale is not recorded, or equipment changes are not explained. A blank row looks like an oversight; write why a reading was not taken.
When to move to software
Paper logs are hard to share and easy to lose. When you are re-typing logs into reports, consider keeping the readings in the job itself. See drying log software and moisture tracking in FloodEx; capture is free.
